Gold Country Mini-Retreat
May 20, 2023
Auburn, CA
Since 2010 we've held annual Gold Country mini-retreats in beautiful Auburn, CA, nestled in the Sierra foothills. Like our other mini-retreats, this is a one-day event that combines discussion of a book (usually nonfiction) with a screening of a related film. There is a small charge, and lunch is provided.

The next Gold Country Mini-Retreat will be held on May 20, 2023 in Auburn, CA.
In the morning we'll discuss Stephen Kinzer's political history, The Brothers: John Foster Dulles, Allen Dulles, and Their Secret World War. Then, after lunch, we'll watch a screening of The Quiet American, based on Graham Greene's novel set in 1955 Vietnam, and starring Michael Caine and Brendan Fraser.
